Selena Gomez - Come and Get It - Inspired Look:

Come And Get It
Selena Gomez's new song has a particularly catchy aspect, like really catchy. As in, playing it on repeat for a good few hours until you want to tear your hair out. But in a good way, of course. I particularly liked the look she had in this video, so I did a set inspired by it. Both black maxi dresses are from Miss Selfridge for £55, which is pretty reasonable. The shoes are from Chockers.com and are £45 each. Both necklaces are from Topshop, and are £50 and £30, whilst the finger chain bracelet is from RingsandTings.com and is £5. I think this look would look really stunning if you were going to an event or even just out for the night. Also if you really want to recreate the look from the video, one of my favorite beauty guru's Tanya Burr has done a make up tutorial on the look in the video, which I will definitely be trying out when I have an opportunity!

That’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool...

The Great Gatsby

In the wake of the stunning new adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, the shops have been packed full of 20's inspired pieces.  I've found just a few of my favourites, and all on the high street! These pretty flapper style dresses are something I'm sure Daisy Buchanan would be proud to sport. Accessorise with Art Deco style jewelry, glamorous cocktail rings, and beautiful headpieces, and lest we forget a dainty pair of heels, you'll be ready to flounce into a speakeasy and Charleston the night away.  Now, if only I had a reason to justify buying any, or all of these outfits...Gatsby themed party anyone?

Music: Passenger

It was in October of 2012 that I first saw Passenger, he was supporting Ed Sheeran, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed seeing him.
Before the gig, me and friend Sam, and the rest of the unlucky giggers, were stood outside in the bitter freezing cold for at least a good 40 minutes to an hour. So as you can imagine, I wasn't in the best mood when we finally got into the venue.
However this all changed when Passenger got up on stage. Me being my disgruntled self had grumbled through the first support act (who's name I can't remember...sorry!), and was fully prepared to grumble my way through the next support act. However this was made impossible when Passenger came along, with his fantastic stage presence and witty quips that made all the audience chuckle - and this was before he'd even started playing. He was honestly one of the best live acts I've seen, he interacted and worked with the audience, and got us to sing along with a few of his songs such as "Holes" and "I Hate" - which is one of my personal favourites, due it's brillantly funny honesty an example being "I hate The X-Factor, for murdering music, you bunch of money grabbing pricks"- how brilliant haha!
When I left the gig, I made a mental note to myself to go home and listen to more of his stuff, alas I did not.
However, just recently a friend mentioned they had been listening to him. And after showing me his wonderful song "Let Her Go", I've had his songs on repeat ever since.
The thing I really love about Passenger, is the refreshing honesty he brings to his songs, there is no holding back when it comes to writing relateable, funny and honest lyrics - my personal favorites being "You build your heart of plastic, get cynical and sarcastic, and end up in the corner on your own" and "We pretend to be friends on the internet, when in real life we have nothing to say".

Passengers album "All The Little Lights" is out now, go check it out if you fancy it!
So yeah,  that's just a little bit about what I'm listening to at the moment!
