London Fashion Week Pictures!

I had meant to do this post ages ago but I was so busy with going back to school that I never got the chance, anyway in September I had the amazing experience of dressing at London Fashion Week for two shows; Unconditional and House of Holland. And yes I was fangirling in my head when I saw Henry Holland and grinning like a silly school girl, I think he thought I was a tad unhinged. It was so much fun, and this time I managed to take a few (fuzzy) snaps from backstage, enjoy!
The model/outfit board at House of Holland, showing what model is wearing which outfit.

Snapped Henry Holland whilst doing an interview for Vogue.

This is the models outfits whom I was dressing, the board shows how the outfits are to be styled and also the number of showing order the model goes onto the catwalk.

And some other assorted pictures from behind the scenes!

Music: Imagine Dragons

As you may be able to tell from my last post, I enjoyed "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and so naturally just had to find out the song from the trailer, which led me to find Imagine Dragons, a band hailing from Las Vegas. Their song you may recognise from the film is called "It's Time", and is seriously catchy and infectiously happy, much like the rest of their album "Night Visions" which has a rather upbeat feel, some of the tracks sound similar to other bands such as Two Door Cinema Club and The Killers. I personally really like this band and am enjoying discovering the rest of their music!

Movies: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower : Review

I have literally just gotten back from the cinema, and decided the only fitting thing to do after seeing what may be one of the best movies of the year, was to write about it (without giving spoilers away of course!).
"The Perks of Being A Wallflower" is a seriously moving and emotive film, as I was going into it not having read the book, I wasn't sure what to expect. However I was pleasantly delighted, the acting - top notch, the script- amazing, just everything about this movie was so right.

"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" is a coming of age story based on the critically acclaimed novel by Stephen Chbosky, about Charlie, an introverted "wallflower" who learns to experience "dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up", with the help of his vibrant and dynamic friends Sam and Patrick.
As a self confessed "wallflower" myself, I found the characters incredibly relateable, especially Charlie, to the point that I no longer felt myself in the cinema, but genuinely a part of the story and immersed in his life. This was thanks to Logan Lerman's acting talents, who plays the role flawlessly, and the wonderfully constructed story line and character development. Emma Watson and Ezra Miller are perfect for the roles of Sam and Patrick, and bring fun, liveliness and warmth, so much so that by the end of the film you will want to be their friends.

There were so many aspects of this story that will speak to the audience on so many levels, finding "first love", learning to grow into yourself as a person, overcoming past or present demons and the experience of coming of age.
"The Perks Of Being A Wallflower" is a sweet, charming, melancholy, witty film and one that I would recommend to anyone.

Red jeans and how to wear them!

I have been coveting a pair of red jeans since last month, I need them! Coloured jeans are so on trend right now, and my favorite colour is burgundy. Its a really classy colour that will add an extra oomph to any outfit.I have put together four outfits; two casual and two for going out, to give you an idea of what I think looks good  with red jeans, as it is a very tricky colour to work with, but when done well can make you look seriously stylish!
Outfit 1: The pink sparkly Topshop top compliments the dark red colour of the jeans, and when paired with the glittery shoes this outfit has a sense of sweet girly innocence with the twist of the edgier jeans.

Outfit 2: The grey sequinned top looks dressy yet more grown up than the previous outfit, paired with the killer black booties, you'll be a sartorial envy of all your friends.

Outfit 3:  The clean crisp white shirt gives the jeans a smart yet casual look, however the leopard print ankle boots crank the outfit up a notch from good to gorgeous.

Outfit 4: If you want to work the colour block trend this season pair your red jeans with this gorgeous jumper, add Zara's velvet moccasins to give the look a unique twist.

My Experience at Nicole Farhi - Mens Fashion Week!

So last Sunday, I had the amazing opportunity of being part of the dressing team for Nicole Farhi at Men's Fashion Week.
Despite this being the first time I had been backstage at an actual catwalk show and being very nervous, I soon relaxed and enjoyed the experience thanks to everyone being so friendly and helpful.
The role of a dresser is to help the models get ready and make sure they're presentable for the catwalk, buttoning buttons, tying shoelaces, taking clothes off hangers ready for the models to put on.
The collection was stunning, and the pieces were very wearable and consisted of subtle elegant shades of blue, cream and sand, and soft tailoring. My favorites being the quilted jackets, cream jumpers & shirts - although this was what the model I was assigned wore, so maybe I'm a bit biased.
It was a lot of fun, and as soon as the show finished I wanted to do it all over again!
I didn't manage to snap any pictures, however if you'd like to see some of the looks and backstage here's a link to another blog, with some pictures of the event.
(Theres even one with me in! 3rd picture down on the far right - if your interested..)

Style Steals : Pastels

Pastels are incredibly on trend at the moment, and it can be tempting, if you're like me, to want to fill your entire wardrobe up with candy coloured delights. However that could be rather expensive, so I've picked out a few key pieces to create a pastel capsule wardrobe. All the looks are from the Asos Collection, a collection that I personally cannot get enough of at the moment, the looks are affordable and so on trend.
(Disclaimer: all these photos belong to

Asos Midi Skirt With Pleats - from £28.00
This gorgeous skirt embodies two trends at once : Pastels, and  chiffon midi skirts.
It is has a high waist, and features knife pleats. Pair it with some wedges or delicate ballet flats and a light summer top.

Asos High Waisted Skinny Jeans in Lilac - £32.00
Pastel jeans are a must have for any summer wardrobe, these also from the Asos Collection, are a sugary lilac colour, and as a owner of a pair myself, I can say they look amazing with wedges and a pastel floral shirt to finish the look.

Asos Weave Hobo Bag - £35.00
This bag is a staple for any wardrobe this summer. The light mint green colour hits the pastel trend on the head, and the woven detail adds another layer of interest.

Asos Pastel Jelly Watch - £18
This little watch is an accessory that will ensure you're never late again, whilst hitting the pastel trend at the same time! Time - get it...? No, okay...

I hope these looks help you to create your own amazing pastel wardrobe!

Outfit of the Day!

This weekend was finally sunny, so I took advantage of the good weather and went out to Southampton  for a uni open day, here's what I wore...

I recently bought a pair of Leigh jeans from Topshop,  at first I was slightly worried about the  circulation in my legs, however they do give after a few wears (thankfully). I love the detail of the little turn ups, so cute! I paired them with a Zara blazer, a  Topshop pastel flower print top, and my cream over-sized tote from River Island.

The nail varnish I chose is from Barry M, it's called Peach Melba. I love the name as much as I love the colour! It is a pale peachy coral colour that embodies the pastel trend perfectly. The top I' m wearing is from Topshop, it is a chiffon pale pink, with pretty little flowers and a collar detail ( I  l.o.v.e. collars at the moment).

These boots are from Topshop too, they're one of my wardrobe staples, they are so versatile and can be worn with almost anything. I think they look quite neat with the turn ups on the jeans.

Thank you for reading! Tell me what you think of this outfit in the comments :)

Outfit of the day!

On Sunday it was my birthday, and to celebrate me and my friends went out to dinner, this is what I wore: the dinner was supposed to be casual, however it was my birthday...and I hardly ever do casual at the best of times!

A LWD (Little white dress) is essential for any summer wardrobe,  I paired this one from Asos with  tan wedges from Topshop (which are probably hard to see becuase of the flowers), giving the outfit a fresh summery look.

I finished the look off with a blazer from Zara, which complements the neutral tones of the outfit, and takes it from casual to smart.
I hope you enjoyed this post, leave in the comments what you think is a perfect birthday outfit!
